Oak Pond Sponsors Forever Friends

Hi Everyone.  I hope my post finds you crafting madly this weekend.  Just a few lines to let you know that OPC Studio now proudly sponsors

Stop on over to the challenge, see this crafty crew and their designs.  The winner of this weeks upcoming challenge will win 3 free stamps from the OPC Studio.  Make sure you follow the challenge rules and craft up your best cards.  I can't wait to see your creations.

There's another new stamp to the studio.  I just LOVE Halloween don't you?  I've been sketching away at some other designs as well and will be adding more as the days pass.  Unfortunately I have to work a real job in real life and sometimes it just gets in the way *sigh* I'll be adding my sketches as fast as I can.  Until then, stop by the store if you want to snatch up my latest pumpkin trio and Witches Welcome.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Free Digi and New Listings

G' day mates and happy Monday.  I'm plopped in front of the T.V. with my notebook to bring you the latest from Oak Pond and a limited time free digi.
Crocodile Dundee is on AMC right now.  I love that movie!
It made me want to move to Australia in the worst way when I was young.
Before we get to the new digis I want to share a card I made for a relative who lives in Virginia.  I decided to sketch her a digi and chose the state flower of Virginia, the Flowering Dogwood.

Currently I make my digis the old fashion way.
I sketch, ink and then scan.
Photoshop is next for a clean up and digitizing
my sketch.

After completing my digital stamp I add color.
I'm using my Prismas and blenders
(my Copics are feeling pretty neglected these days)
After I color an image, the hardest part of every card I make is choosing
paper.  UGH!  My besties Flip Flop Creations Jeni and Turtle in the Sand Linda
are super pro at this.  They can choose colors in about 30 seconds.
I'm lucky if I've decided on one piece after 30 minutes.

Decisions are finally made and every thing's together.
I used this for one of their challenges a while back
and modified it just a tiny bit for my finished card.

New Digi

Who likes spiders?  NOT me.  I have an extreme, over-the-top arachnophobia/insectiphobia (Is that a real word?)  issue.  So it doesn't make sense that I have an obsession with photographing spiders and bugs.  I've found that by standing a few feet away and using my macro lens I'm able to tolerate insects and spiders in fact, I think they are the most fascinating and intriguing little creatures.
I hope you like the new digi and enjoy my inspiration picture.
Happy Friday Bloggers and happy crafting! <3 -Kim

One of the many Black and Yellow Argiope Spiders
that "hang out" at Oak Pond.

Go Ahead. Make My Day.

Hi All!  I hope everyone in Blogland is doing well and having a wonderful week.  I could not resist entering Chery's Pretty Papers challenge this week.  I'm using my MOST fav Cheryl digi
Coloring this sassy little stamp was so fun.  Every time I look at her expression I crack up.  I wanted to use a lot of red to bring out her angry aura.  I also used white flocking powder for her Crown base and skirt hem.  Had to have the fru, fru girly clothes.  Stop on over to Cheryl's and join in the fun.  Make sure you check out her shop.  She has the most amazing digital stamps for every occasion.  Happy Crafting and have a wonderful weekend.
