Goodbye Halloween

I know. I know.  Christmas is coming.  This is my Halloween last hurrah!  Yesterday I had an amazing Christmas crafting day with Linda from Turtle in the Sand and Jeni from Flip Flop Creations.  We had a great time making Christmas cards and cackling it up like a bunch of hens.  I told them about one more Halloween project I wanted to get finished.  Well it's done.  Just in time for the Halloween pack up but all ready for next year's decorating.
The now empty bottle ;) was gift to my husband from my mother in law.  It contained a crafted beer they shared on her last visit.
I liked this dark brown glass so instead of tossing the bottle, I re purposed it.
I used Oak Pond Creations Skull and shaded it with Prisma pencils.
Two Martha Stewart punches and recollections card stock created the label frame.
That's it for Halloween!  Next up, Christmas.  I've got a few sketches started so join the mailing list for updates.  Hugs and happy crafting to you and thanks to my dear Mom!

Sketchbook News: Name the Raven Winner and Halloween Treats in the Studio!

Happy Halloween!
There's a lot to cover in this post so let's get right down to it shall we.  I have two new images in the studio this week but first up, I've selected a name for my newest character, the Raven.
There were some great suggestions but I could only choose one.  Don't worry, I have a surprise for everyone who participated so keep reading.
Introducing Edgar the Raven and Mabel Mouse

Congratulation Ike!  You've won the image above featuring Edgar and Mabel as well as one other image of your choice from the studio.  Please e-mail me with your choice and I'll send out your images.

Thank you to all who participated.  In appreciation, each participant who left a comment and a name suggestion on my previous post also receives Edgar the Raven and Mabel Mouse. Please e-mail me at with your name suggestion/s in the subject line and I'll send this image to you.
My next image is Edgar the Raven.  He certainly looks like he has a lot to say.  What do you think?

Both of these images are available in the Studio.  Just click on the image or my shop badge and you'll be transported to my Etsy Studio.

Next I'm sharing a fun project I made using Graphic 45 papers.  It's a Halloween Slider card.  The complete tutorial link is on YouTube and it's by Sari Hanninen.  THANK YOU Sari :) I took my project a step further than Sari's video.  I altered my measurements to fit the graphics on this designer paper AND because G45 papers are that gorgeous, I just had to make this double slider DOUBLE sided.
This is the first side closed, using vertical images

 With tabs pulled open

Reverse side, closed and using horizontal images

.... annnnd with tabs opened
This slider was surprisingly easy to make
All papers in this project came from the G45 Steam punk Spells collection.
I hope everyone has a happy Halloween and spooktacular day!
Hugs and happy crafting!

Hey there Papercrafters!  I'm typing up my post to you from small town, New Jersey, USA 600 miles from my home sweet home.  If you follow my blog you know I travel back and forth quite a bit to visit family and I always pack an extra piece of luggage to hold my crafty supplies.  Me and my family have had an action packed day but I was able to squeeze in some card time and create an inspiration card.  My old hometown is decorated with homemade scarecrows on every corner, spooky spiderwebs on shop doors and is hosting a Pumpkin Carve this weekend.  It's so festive and makes Halloween a fun time for everyone so I wanted my inspiration card to be happy and bright.

All Aboard for a free digi and Thomas the Tank Engine!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you had fun this past weekend at all of the World Card Making Day blogland festivities .  Don't forget to join the Link Up for Pink breast cancer awareness party.  It's still going on and you can enter a card for some great prizes.
As for the goings on at Oak Pond, we have a few Thomas the Tank engine fans in our family and today I'm sharing my project using some Thomas Designer Paper.  Like many, I have enough designer paper in my studio to last a decade.  I have no business adding more but, when I saw some Thomas the Tank engine paper at my LSS (local scrapbook store) a few months ago, like many....I knew I had to build something with it.  I passed over this paper a hundred times in my stash trying to figure out exactly WHAT to do with it.  It was not a layout for a background or building a general card.  It was a 12 X 12 sheet of cutouts.  After two months it hit me like a Train! (ha-ha)  My Thomas paper had to become an exploding box.

This was so much fun to build and very easy.  I created the pyramid in the middle by cutting 4 triangles and leaving tabs to glue together.  Printed a sentiment and mounted it on a toothpick that was inserted into the top of the pyramid.  I hope it inspires you to try something new!
Don't forget to grab this months free image below.  Hugs and happy crafting! -Kim
